Since his third film “Blowjob“ shot in 2006, none of Ho’s films features Singaporean actors. This is important in understanding the ‘pornographer with a cause’ (whose experimental film-work is never mentioned in his native country). It speaks of, not only defiance and distrust of his homeland, but also a reactionary stance towards the Singapore ideal often boasted with self-aggrandizing arrogance.
