I'm not very good at keeping my apartment neat and clean and I have always had a fantasy about someone performing the work for me. I placed a free ad in a newspaper for a "Submissive Slave" to do the housework for me. I received many phone calls from men who wanted to be punished, but none who sounded like they were serious about doing any work. I asked my friend Jerry the Priest to help me make a piece about my search for a housekeeper. We both share a 1980's history, along with a fondness for thrash metal. When Jerry arrived at my door, he was dressed disturbingly like an old boyfriend of mine from many years ago, a boyfriend who was a sexual compulsive. "Crystal Cleans My House of Conscience" is a document of a specific time in my life in Los Angeles and also functions as a psychic "house-cleaning" for an obsessive love affair and a punk rock past. With music by "Slayer".
